1. Agreement
By accessing or using the Soumokil Family Website ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Who May Use the Service
The Service is a private family reunion portal for members of the Soumokil extended family and guests they invite. Access is not open to the general public. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by your OAuth provider). Accounts may be held in pending status until a family administrator approves access.
3. Accounts and Sign-In
You may sign in with email (password or one-time link) or third-party OAuth (e.g., Google, GitHub). You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in methods secure. Administrators may approve, suspend, or remove access at any time to protect the family community.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service respectfully and only for lawful family purposes. You will not harass or threaten others; post illegal, hateful, or sexually explicit content; impersonate others; scrape or automate access; attempt to breach security; use the Service for commercial solicitation unrelated to family events; or share login credentials. You will respect the privacy of family photos, messages, and personal information shared on the platform.
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of content you upload (posts, comments, photos, videos, recipes, messages, and similar materials). You grant the Service a limited license to host, display, and transmit that content only to other authorized family members as needed to operate features you use (feeds, groups, events, albums, messaging, and related tools). You represent that you have the rights to share what you upload and that it does not violate others' rights.
6. Family-Only Visibility
Content is intended for approved family members, not for public distribution off-platform. Do not republish others' private posts or contact details outside the family without permission.
7. Moderation
Administrators and designated moderators may review reported content, remove posts or comments, and restrict accounts to keep the community safe. Decisions are made in good faith for the family community.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on infrastructure and authentication providers (including Vercel, Convex, and OAuth or email providers). Their terms and privacy practices also apply to those interactions. Optional notifications may use email or SMS providers configured by administrators.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" for family coordination (events, recipes, photos, family tree links, and similar features). Reunion details, recipes, and member-submitted information are not professional advice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the family site operators and volunteers are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service. Total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid to use it (typically zero, as the Service is non-commercial).
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion (see our Privacy Policy). Administrators may terminate or suspend access for violations of these Terms or to protect the family community.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
